Made in Bangladesh: Bangla Car Limited is starting production New SUV cars
A sister concern of Hossain Group of Industries, Bangla Cars Limited is already assembling cars in their factory in Narayanganj
Bangladesh is well-known worldwide for its RMG and agriculture industries, but as more corporations build up car production and assembly units around the country, it has the potential to become the country’s next great thing.
Bangla automobiles Limited, a sister company of Hossain Group of Industries, is already assembling automobiles in their plant in Panchabati, Narayanganj. They have already sold a significant portion of the manufactured automobiles labeled as DFSK Glory this year, despite not formally commencing their marketing operations.
Unlike the other vehicle firms being established in the country, Bangla automobiles Ltd intends to launch automobiles with their unique design this year. Pick-up trucks, buses, and full-sized container trucks are also produced by the firm.
Bangla automobiles Limited is now manufacturing automobiles from various places across the world, relying on Japan’s ISUZU firm for the supply of engine and chassis parts from Indonesia. By this year, the business intends to produce 12 distinct types of cars, all of which will be designed in-house.
DFSK is a Chinese carmaker, and Maa Enterprise presently imports automobiles directly to Bangladesh. Bangla Cars Limited intends to establish an integrated production, marketing, and service base in Bangladesh.
The carmaker maintains a showroom in Tejgaon where they display their vehicles in various colors and versions. According to sources, additional showrooms will be opened in each of the country’s eight divisions in the first phase, followed by 30 more across the country.
Although the plan was to start manufacturing earlier this year, the pandemic has caused a huge delay. Bangla Cars Limited aims to eventually sell 4,000 to 5,000 vehicles a year, including electric vehicles, which they are currently working on.
This would be a massive contribution to the economy as we are heavily dependent on imported vehicles for both personal and commercial use. As the production is at a very early stage, they are looking to achieve sales volume to be 1,500 units of new cars within three years by building a state of the art factory and also offer 24-hour after-sales service.
Bangla Car Benefits
Many people are already wondering what type of amenities the company would provide its consumers. To begin, the automobiles are based on the already-available DFSK Gory model. The vehicle’s interior has an artificially intelligent virtual assistant with over 100 voice requests.
Under the center armrest is a 9-inch infotainment display with a multimedia console controller, a navigation system, and USB auxiliary connections for easy communication.
The first and second rows of the 7-seater car provide plenty of leg room. However, the area in the third row has been reduced but is still suitable for youngsters. The SUV includes a high-quality audio system.

The SUV is priced at Tk30 lakh, which might drop dramatically if they begin producing the full vehicle in-house rather than relying on foreign components.
Furthermore, Bangla Cars Ltd intends to develop an electric car by next year, with intentions to sell it to neighboring nations. This might be a noteworthy accomplishment since it would be the first time a Bangladeshi-made car has been exported. However, in order to fulfill market demand, the company is presently focused on providing automobiles ranging from 1500cc to 2000cc.
PHP Group is now building automobiles for Malaysian company Proton, while Progoti is doing the same for Mitsubishi Motors.
